and now for day 3!

today we went to the estuarium here on the island.  it definitely couldn't hold a candle to the shedd, but it was still really fun.

here we are watching an informational video about mobile bay.  as you can see our attention wasn't totally on the video.  but we are super cute...

this was the fence by the boardwalk outside the estuarium.  i thought it was really cool.  these lined the whole thing.

there were hundreds of these little sand crabs in the sand off the boardwalk.  they would hide for awhile and then all run out to the water at the same time.  they looked like lemmings...

how do you like this action???????  let's talk about my awesome new telephoto lens...seriously awesome!!!!

and another little buddy hanging out...

love it!!!!!

these flowers were growing outside of the fence.  strange all the different colors on one plant...

nice view...

we at dinner last night here...they have awesome tilapia!!!!!!!  and then, today, the place where we wanted to eat lunch was closed so we went back and had bbq this time...yum!  small island...not many eating places here...but good food though.

like i said...yum!!

after lunch we went to the bird sanctuary...where ironically we saw no birds.  had a happy little hike to a lake though where we met some really cool people who live here.  they said alligators live in the lake and we got to see one of them!

there he is!!!!!!

we had dinner at barnacle bill's seafood place.  umm...really bad service...high prices...AND they took so long, we missed the sunset!  :(  oh well...at least the salad was good!

so that's about it for today.  i'm headed to bed soon.  this vacation is going by tooooooo quickly!!!!!!!!  :(

Question. The pictures of you, did you set up the shot, or did you just give the camera to someone and say, "Here, take a picture of me?" Because they are very nicely framed/posed/etc!
