thoughts for the day...unfortunately from someone else's mind...not mine--#2

psalm 55:16-17
but i call to God, and the Lord will save me. evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan, and he hears my voice.

prayer is easily the most underused power available to the christian. there was nothing sophisticated about david's prayers. he simply understood the magnitude of the gift God had given him through His availability in prayer. david didn't wait to form the words carefully; he didn't concern himself with sounding pious; he just blurted out his deepest longings, his greatest sorrows and his most haunting fears. on the other end was the loving Father, deeply moved by the humble dependence of His child and ready to come to his aid with His mercy, His grace and His power...learn to pray with abandon to "Him who is able to keep you from falling."
